Founder & Director
Keely is a proud Gubbi Gubbi, Gooreng Gooreng and South Sea Islander woman, songstress, mother and survivor. As an independent artist with 12 years experience in the arts, including government, not-for-profit, corporate and private sectors.
Keely is highly skilled vocalist devoted to refining her craft whilst sharing tools to support
other women through crisis and trauma.
Ruby Wharton
Facilitator / Head of Campaigning
Meanjin based wordsmith, Gomeroi and Kooma Yinnar Ruby Wharton, curates words of power that describe er lived experiences as a First Nations woman living in the colony of so-called Australia. Ruby began writing several years ago as an outlet to her work as a political activist. Her craft represents the many ways First Nations people live and breath, and tells the story of uprise and self-determination.
Samala Thakialee
Facilitator / Cultural Advisor
Samala Thakialee Cronin started dancing as a toddler touring the country with the Mornington Island Dancers. She
has performed traditional song and dance all her life. Samala was instrumental in the successful Woppaburra
People’s Native Title Claim and has represented Australia as an Ambassador on multiple international engagements,
was a finalist for the Pride of Australia Awards and has been heavily involved in the climate justice space.
